Eileen Hart Memorial Horticulture & Forest Ecology Grants

This grant program is provided by the family and friends of Master Gardner Eileen Hart. The purpose is to encourage the growth of Hillsborough County 4-H clubs and the interest of members in the areas of horticulture, forestry-ecology, forestry, or related programs.

Applications should be submitted by the first week of each month to be considered for an award to be used the following month.

Horticulture Grant

Up to $250 annually. Grant can be used by a 4-H club or member to carry out a horticulture project. Applicants must provide estimated costs for the project. A project can be community service focused such as building a community garden, water conservation projects, handicap accessible raised beds, or setting up plant identification signs in a local park, or other.

Forest Ecology Grant

Up to $250 annually. Grant can be used by a 4-H club or member to carry out a forest-ecology or forestry related project. Applicants must provide estimated costs for the project. A project can be community service focused like organized tree planting, setting up plant identification signs in local park, or other.

GUIDELINES

Clubs or a member may apply each year. If there are no eligible applicants each year, the grant will be carried over to the following year. If applying for both grants, separate applications are required.

You must be an active and approved Hillsborough County 4-H Club, leader, or member

In addition to completing this Cover Page form, you must also submit:

Essay: Attach an essay that briefly explains your club or individual 4-H year’s horticulture or forest ecology project plan to participate in with educational goals.

Please give estimated expenses when possible.

Project completion report: Grant recipients are required to email a grant completion report with photos to the Grants & Scholarships Committee within six (6) months of receiving your grant.
